Social Media by the Numbers
One of the single greatest tools a social media manager has in their toolbox is numbers. Looking at statistics and data for various platforms can help you decide which social media platforms are best for growing your business and which ones will best meet your goals. In this post we will give you some stats on various platforms to help you decide which best meets the needs of your business.
1. Facebook
Facebook has what other social media platforms such as Twitter and Pinterest can’t even begin to compete with— the sheer number of people on the platform. According to Statista, as of the second quarter of 2020 Facebook had 2.7 billion monthly active users. If your biggest concern is trying to cast the widest net possible, Facebook has the largest reach of any social media platform based on sheer numbers alone.
2. YouTube
YouTube is often overlooked when it comes to social media platforms, but not only does it boast a massive 1.9 billion visitors, it also has the second largest search engine in the world. With 49% of consumers also relying on influencer recommendations, investing in YouTube can be a worthwhile way to attract new customers. The only drawback to YouTube is the expenses that come with running and creating a channel and making advertisement deals with influencers.
3. LinkedIn
For B2B businesses, LinkedIn allows them to target individuals in specific industries rather than utilizing the broad reach of something like Facebook. While it may be smaller compared to the likes of Facebook or Instagram, that also means there is less competition to get recognized or appear in LinkedIn’s newsfeed.
