Is your marketing plan ready for 2021?
2020 has been one crazy year, especially for small business owners. The realization that we rely heavily on Social Media Marketing has become more prevalent over the years, but 2020 has emphasized this fact with a force. With social distancing, quarantining, and the massive change in our day-to-day routines, social media is one of the most efficient ways to reach out to a clientele.
How does your marketing plan for 2021 look like?
We have a few tips for you while you build your 2021 Marketing Plan. These 5 things will help you stay relevant and your marketing plan to gain the success you are looking for.
Know your audience
This is extremely important. Think about the product/service you provide and what demographic of clientele would be in need of that product or service. What kind of marketing structure will you need to reach the type of clientele you need to catch the attention to? What is their age group/generation? When are they most active on social media? What platform are they frequently on the most? Are there trends you can participate with? Knowing your audience can make a huge difference in your success with sales. Know your audience.
Create a plan
What does your social media marketing plan look like? Do you have material relevant to the yearly holidays? Is your content clever and creative? Do you have events, specials, sales happening that you want to promote? What about new products/services? Even though sometimes plans change, it is always beneficial to have a structured outline on how your marketing plan will lay out. If throughout the year there needs to be a few adjustments, that is okay. But going in blind with no plan of action is not in your, or your business’s, best interest.
Staying consistent
Nothing can throw your off your flow of business like inconsistency. You want to be sure that you are able to follow through with your schedule posts/contents. It is a good idea for your posting to be on a regular basis and display, very clearly, what kind of business you run. You do not want to fall into the background of other business owners because they are posting more consistently than you are. Be sure you are part of the front line so that everyone can see that you are available and the options you provide.
Be available
Be available doesn’t just mean to have your content seen. It also means for you to be active in your social media. Reply to comments and reviews, take note of the things that could be improved and continue to progress with what works. Customers like to be heard, and if they are being heard they are more likely to return. If you were available to answer questions, or helped remedy an issue they were having, this only promotes your business in a positive light. Your customers or clients are able to see that you take an active role in your business and care about the people who support you.
Know your competition
You should know the other businesses in your area that provide the same or similar services and products that you provide. It is always in good practice to be aware of any specials or sales they have going on, as well as their prices and the quality of work they provide. This helps you with your own details such as services you can add, pricing you can adjust, as well as expanding your business the more successful you get.
