PARC Story - Meet Laurie

The Inspired Artist Studios at PARC is a career advancement initiative for artists of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities wishing to participate in Florida’s thriving creative industry. Artists are independently included in the contemporary aesthetic dialogue and contribute to a platform that promotes diversity and inclusion in the arts.

Meet Laurie, an artist who attends the Inspired Artist Studios at PARC. She expresses herself through painting by creating beautiful renditions of the art of famous artists and floral landscapes that promote free form, movement and artistic dance. Laurie’s inspirations are her family and loved ones, her church that she attends with her family and of course music. She is known to reach the goals that she sets. Laurie says, “I really like to paint and dance – it makes me feel good.”
